I remember reading in one of these threads (which now I cannot find anymore) that you were planning to add asynchronous path finding to the isometric plugin. Has it happend already and if not, can we know when it is planned?

It's definitely still in the list of things to do and fairly high priority.
At the moment we are working to integrate the isometric plug-in with the visual editor, which means you'll get an isometric map editor. This is higher priority as we feel every isometric user will benefit from it. Async path-finding is next though.
